Join the BGA and benefit from being part of a community with a shared interest in UK-German relations.
Members of the BGA benefit from being part of a community with a shared interest and affection for each other’s countries. Through our active programme of events, members are able to gain a better understanding of the rich cultural, historic, business and political interaction between the UK and Germany.
The BGA’s events programme is active and diverse. Members have preferential booking for these events and receive regular newsletters and email notifications. Through their membership, individuals are also supporting the charitable work of the Association and its Youthbridge project to support the teaching of German in UK schools.
Testemonial from BGA Member John Waterman: “I joined the BGA almost a year ago and just wanted to let potentional new members know why I think the experience has been so enriching. For me the most important thing has been the attitude of the members; everybody I have met has been friendly, open and welcoming. What I particularly appreciate is the complete lack of pretention, hierarchy and personal self-interest of its members. It’s a genuine interest and curiosity in the individual experiences and shared histories we have as people. So, would I recommend that you join? Absolutely! In return you will make new friends, and think, laugh and learn more…….and they also organise a lot of very, very interesting events!”
Sustaining and Corporate Membership
Many of the leading UK and German companies are corporate members of the BGA. More than 2,500 German companies operate in the UK, with investments worth more than Euro 100 billion and employing 450,000 people.
As the economic interdependence between Britain and Germany continues to grow, the BGA provides its corporate members with an important platform and voice, helping shape outcomes, engaging with decision makers and opinion formers.
The BGA is active across the United Kingdom and seeks to develop links with the many British-German Clubs, Societies and Town-Twinning organisations. Our Affiliated Members benefit from access to our events programme and regular communication to members. We work together to stage events outside of London, working in collaboration with local clubs and societies.
Bi-annually, our Affiliated Members are able to attend and participate in the Town-Twinning Conference, organised in partnership with the German Embassy
