UK & German Living

Introduction

LivingAs the world is becoming a smaller place, and people are becoming global citizens, you might have also considered living abroad for a while or even emigrating to another country

Then, when away from home or move away from your native country and adopt a new residence abroad, you become an expatriate. It is an exciting but also busy time and all of a sudden, you see yourself confronted with new situations and questions. If this is the case, our new online service, the intercultural Portal called "BGA on the Move for People on the Move", will help you to find the information you require to help you settle in Great Britain or Germany.

Together with our partners, we have endeavoured to collect information and links which will be useful when addressing typical questions that arise when attempting to settle into a foreign country. It has been our intention to combine any and every piece of information in one site and we have tried to be as accurate and up-to-date as possible. Not only do we provide information on the different in the cultures of both nations, but also comprehensive relocation information including how to get through the jungle of bureaucratic requirements, how to find a new home, a job, a school for your children and new friends and much more.

And if we do not have the answer for your question, we will at least point you in the direction of a site in the internet which will provide you with further details, eg. have a look at www.relocationexpert.co.uk. Additionally, for those who would rather read a book than surf the internet, we also provide literature recommendations in each section.

In case, you still need insider information, you will also have the opportunity to get in touch with real people, our individual members, in order to exchange ideas, pose questions and get insider information through our bulletin board, or, as we like to call it, the "Knowledge Sharing Tool". Furthermore, we - at the BGA office - are always happy to help and look forward to receiving any comments, suggestions or ideas that you may have; just contact us.

Moreover we have endeavoured to provide the best service possible. So, if you feel that we have omitted vital piece of information, or perhaps included something that is no longer accurate, please feel free to notify us by e-mail: info@britishgermanassociation.org.
